Literature Text

November's bitter morning
and splitting frostbit ground
Garnished crow-feather warning
with reapers all around.

The heart feels wrong
Staring down the grim narrow way
Hearing in whisper Death's song
From plagued masked doctors at bay.
The feeling to stand strong--
left unstable by legs that sway.

Strength supporting the foundation
beneath these legs begins to crumble,
The Sea of Souls beginning to maul.
"Such a weak mind would give in to temptation,"
to the starved reapers I mumble,
"However friends also help those stand tall."
This is just a little something I quickly wanted to get out of my head. I plan on going back to edit it later on in the future when my family and I have gone through the healing process.

I wrote this because we only just found out my grandpa's health is quickly declining. Yet it's at a point where they think he has Stage 4 Liver Cancer, but we can't do any tests without it poisoning him. The holidays are going to be quite grim.

To the man who helped raise me and keep my foundation strong, please remain strong and I'll continue to blindly swing at any reaper who gets close to you. I love you, Grandpa. Please pull through. Life could never be the same without you.
